Who can enter this baby competition?
A parent or legal guardian living in South Africa may enter a child aged from birth to 3 years. You must own the photograph or have permission to use it. One clear, recent photo gives voters the best view of your little one.
Every submission is checked before appearing in the public gallery. Photos with unsafe scenes, text overlays or content that does not meet the competition rules may be declined.
How voting and winners work
Registered supporters receive 10 free votes per baby every 24 hours. They may also use optional vote packs or SMS voting. The live leaderboard shows progress throughout the month.
Voting closes at midnight on the final day of each calendar month. The leading entries are verified before the top three are announced, and prizes are paid by EFT to South African bank accounts.
Monthly, not once-off
A new competition starts on the first of every month. Entries and voting close on the last day of the month, winners are announced about a week later, and prize money is paid out within 14 days of the announcement.

Use natural window light or open shade, keep the background simple and photograph your baby at eye level. A sharp, unfiltered photo with a natural expression helps people connect with the entry. Avoid text, frames and heavy editing. The original photo remains yours and Star Tots adds a watermark when it is displayed.
